2025 NFL Draft Round 2: Open thread

The Buffalo Bills are back at it this evening, with two picks (56 and 62) to use in Round 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft. While that’s great news, the less ideal situation is that Buffalo has zero picks in Round 3 tonight.

Will the Bills trade later compensation to try and swing a deal to land a third-round pick later in the evening? We’ll have to wait and see. After selecting cornerback Maxwell Hairston in Round 1, general manager Brandon Beane is likely to focus in on defensive line talent (namely defensive tackle), safety, and perhaps wide receiver. But don’t count out a complete wild card of a pick from Buffalo at any point on Day 2.

If you’re curious about what time the Bills might be on the clock in Round 2, here’s my best guess based on past drafts and the irrefutable measure known as spacetime:

Round 2 (begins Friday at 7 p.m. EDT)

56th overall (via Minnesota from Houston)

  • on the clock around 8:53 p.m. EDT
  • pick is in around 9 p.m. EDT

62nd overall

  • on the clock around 9:13 p.m. EDT
  • pick is in around 9:20 p.m. EDT

Buckle up, there’s plenty to take in this evening as the Bills look to improve their roster heading into the 2025 NFL season.

Here’s your open thread for the evening. As always, be kind to one another, and in all things — Go Bills!
