Darkness fell before all players were able to complete their opening rounds Thursday night, but not before four pros finished off rounds of five-under 65 to tie for the early lead. Among the leaders is veteran Keith Mitchell, who is looking for his second PGA Tour win this week and first since 2019.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and No. 2 Rory McIlroy were also able to complete their first rounds on Thursday. Scheffler, who finished runner-up at Memorial Park in 2024, shot a 67 to get within two shots of the lead. McIlroy settled for an even-par 70.
On Friday morning, those players who failed to finish Thursday night will complete their rounds, and the second round will get started as scheduled.
