4/6/25

Whenever the Yankees have a clearly subpar opponent on the schedule—especially an opponent whose ace isn’t scheduled to pitch—my hope is that they take care of business in a hurry and not leave the series up to chance. So I’m happy to see that the Yanks have mostly made tidy work of the Pirates this weekend, notching back-to-back victories. They already the series win in hand, so I can now simply be greedy and hope they sweep it, rather than potentially being annoyed about the Yankees possibly losing a series to a bad team. All the same, let’s see Will Warren deploy his best today!

Today on the site, Peter will examine the new pitches thrown by Yankees pitchers through the first week (plus) of play in 2025, Sam will have the Rivalry Roundup, and with the 2000 Yankees off on this day 25 years ago, we’ll skip straight ahead to Estevão running through the latest MLB Reacts survey results, which focus on torpedo bats, Aaron Judge homer predictions, and more. After the matinee, John will report the weekly Social Media Spotlight.
