Updated: 10:53 AM EDT Mar 27, 2025
Happy opening day Cincinnati. Stephen Albritton here sitting high up in the stands at Great American Ballpark taking in the views as the sun comes up on what’s going to be *** fantastic opening day. So Terry Francona, he’s the new manager of the Reds, he has two World Series rings to show for it hopes to bring that knowledge and experience to. This ball club and really make some noise this year in Major League Baseball. Eli de la Cruz had *** fantastic spring. He’s already in peak midseason form and hopes to build on top of that major year he had last year, finishing 8th and NL MVP voting. He’s also on the cover of *** video game. We spoke with Marty Brennaman, longtime voice of the Reds. He’s excited for what we could see in this team. We caught up with him. You can feel that there’s something different about what’s happening in this dugout below. I think these young kids getting people back like Matt McLean, who was out the whole season last year, um, they have some, you know, they, they have some things that they have to get ironed out, but on paper in *** very winnable division. I think they have the capability of being the National League’s central champions. Of course we’ve got the parade. We hope to see you there. It will be at noon on WLWT, first pitch for the game with Hunter Green taking the ball at 4:10. Hopefully he can get this year started off right and get the red legs into the win column on day one. Hope to see you at the parade. Enjoy opening day, Cincinnati.

⚾️ Big assignment for Gavin Lux in his Reds debut. Only 35th career start in left⚾️ Valiant March 27th effort from Spencer Steer (shoulder). Team is shorthanded and he’s giving it a go
⚾️ The hope for Tito is this is the first of many Friedl/McLain/De La Cruz combos in ‘25 https://t.co/lWhsyrr4Yw
