Magnitude 3.9 Earthquake Shakes Los Angeles—No Major Damage Reported

A magnitude 3.9 earthquake shook parts of Los Angeles and nearby areas on Sunday night, although no major damage has been reported from the temblor so far, in an incident that comes several weeks after the region was hit by a series of disasters including several deadly wildfires and a severe storm.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the magnitude 3.9 quake was centered around 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) east south east of North Hollywood—close to Burbank.

The earthquake took place at 10:13 p.m. PST, and caused light shaking.

So far there have been no reports of major damage and the Los Angeles Fire Department said it was “not entering earthquake mode,” at this time.
