SAN FRANCISCO ― Florida basketball starting sophomore forward Alex Condon left Thursday night’s Sweet 16 game against Maryland in the first half with an ankle injury.
After being listed as “questionable” following halftime, Condon re-entered the game with 13:29 to play.
Before the game’s intermission, TBS courtside reporter Lauren Shehadi was told Florida was being “extra cautious” and were taking “precautionary x-rays.”
The 6-foot-11, 230-pound Condon appeared to suffer the injury when he stepped on Florida teammate Denzel Aberdeen’s ankle after a Maryland missed shot. Condon suffered an injury to his right ankle earlier this season, forcing him to miss a pair of games.
Condon earned second-team, All-SEC honors as a starter, averaging 11.1 points and 7.8 rebounds on the season.
