Best Trae Young prop bets for Hawks vs. Heat: Thursday 3/27/25

Trae Young has been consistent each year with both his scoring and playmaking, regardless of how the Hawks perform.

The team hasn’t been as successful as that one conference finals run, but it’s still in contention for a play-in tournament spot. It’s also not impossible to sneak into the sixth seed, but that would be difficult with so few games remaining.

The Hawks are five games behind the Bucks for the sixth seed and a half game ahead of the Magic in the eighth seed. Every game matters for positioning, especially tonight against the Heat, who are the 10th seed.

Atlanta is a two-point underdog on the road and the game total is set at 227 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Below, I have featured my favorite Young prop bets to consider from this contest.

Young has proven to be one of the top scoring guards in the league while simultaneously being a top playmaker as well. He’s leading the NBA with 11.4 assists per game this year. It’s a career-high for him and the third time in double-digits.

While he’s an incredible passer on his own, he definitely benefits from having good teammates to feed the ball to. Jalen Johnson, De’Andre Hunter and Clint Capela were three major targets for the All-Star point guard. Johnson and Capela are out with injuries and Hunter is now a member of the Cavaliers.

Atlanta has less talent around Young, forcing him to score more often. He’s averaging 27.4 points over his last eight outings while making 2.6 three-pointers per game. His assists sit at 10.1 during this stretch, so it’s not a huge drop-off.

Still, there’s a priority on his scoring that should be focused on. His points prop is set at 23.5 at -120, but his three-pointers made is more juicy at +105 for over 2.5. Young is averaging 2.8 threes per game this season, which has dipped to 2.6 over the past eight, but he’s more efficient during this stretch. He’s shooting 38.9 percent in the past eight games compared to 33.3 percent overall.

Young has also hit the over in five of these eight contests. Tonight is a must-win matchup as the Heat are also fighting for play-in positioning. If the Hawks expect to keep the seventh seed or even rise to the sixth seed, they need to rely on Young.

Tonight’s game is an opportunity for him to take over with his scoring, most notably from distance. His over 23.5 points prop is also a great play for the same reasons as before. Young’s scoring has increased recently, and it should be on display in Miami.

Parlaying both the three-pointers made and points props gives bettors +156 odds.
