Fucsovics won when the pair faced in last year’s final and he seems to love it here in Bucharest but on clay Navone is generally the better player and should have the advantage. It certainly won’t be easy, as Fucsovics will do everything in his power to keep his title defense alive here, but Navone should have the slight edge all things considered.
Prediction: Navone in 3
Stan Wawrinka vs Pedro Martinez
Head-to-head: Wawrinka 1-1 Martinez
Wawrinka is still hanging around at 40 years old, perhaps aiming for one last big run or even one last title and this week is a new opportunity to get it done. Martinez is the better player at the moment, but he has lost all of his last six matches and Wawrinka has been playing well lately, he could well score another great win here.
Prediction: Wawrinka in 3
