Security intervene as Lerone Murphy steps to angry fan after UFC Vegas 105 win

Lerone Murphy was ready to go another round after his 25-minute scrap at UFC Vegas 105.

The Englishman improved to 16-0-1 by outpointing Josh Emmett over five rounds on Saturday night.

All three cageside judges had the fight for Lerone Murphy, with 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46 scorecards.

However, loud boos from fans inside UFC APEX suggested not everyone agreed with the decision.

Footage taken at the venue shows Murphy exiting the Octagon after his biggest win yet.

Someone in the crowd can be heard shouting something that got the attention of the featherweight contender, who raised his hands, let out a Ric Flair woo, and began barking back at the man in question.

Murphy went to walk towards the angry fan before security stepped in and sent him in a different direction.

“Decision win for @LeroneMurphy sees him stay unbeaten after #UFCVegas105,” veteran MMA reporter John Morgan captioned the viral video he shared after the UFC Vegas 105 main event.

“As he exits cage, a fan is yelling ‘You didn’t win’. Murphy takes a step in that direction but is quickly shuffled back the other way.”

Murphy is closing in on a shot at the featherweight title recently vacated by Ilia Topuria.

Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes will scrap for the unoccupied belt at UFC 314 on April 12.

Murphy was planning to call for a fight with whoever wins next week, but only if he finished Emmett.

Now the 33-year-old has turned his attention to a former title challenger who has already fought Volkanovski and Lopes.

“If I got a finish, I was going to call for the title,” Murphy admitted during the UFC Vegas 105 post-fight show.

“Where’s Brian Ortega ranked? Diego Lopes went up to get a title shot after fighting him. So let’s go, Brian Ortega!”
