Hundreds of outages reported in North Texas as severe storms roll in

DALLAS — Hundreds of power outages were reported by Oncor on Tuesday morning as severe thunderstorms with the potential for high wind moved into North Texas

According to Oncor’s outage map, 876 outages left about 62,800 customers without power around 5 a.m. 

Tarrant County reported the most outages, with about 33,902 customers without power Tuesday morning. About 3,000 Oncor customers in Dallas County were also without power Tuesday morning. Parker and Palo Pinto counties both saw over a dozen outages impacting about 1,000 people, according to the outage map. 

The storms are expected to move through DFW starting around 4 a.m. and clear out of the Metroplex by 8 a.m., according to WFAA’s weather team. The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for most of North Texas until 11 a.m. Tuesday. A tornado warning is in effect for parts of North Texas until 5:30 a.m.
