Borussia Dortmund star Serhou Guirassy is hoping for a “goal-fest” when his side take on Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
There were plenty of goals when the teams met earlier in the competition, with Barca running out 3-2 winners in Germany.
Wednesday’s match sees the two top goalscorers in the competition meet, as Raphinha faces off against Guirassy, and the Dortmund star can’t wait.
“It was an unbelievable match. The result wasn’t good for us, but now it’s a knockout tie, so it’s very different. Both teams will raise their level,” he told the club’s media.
“It is of course great to score against Barcelona – they are one of the top 10 teams in the world. That shows that you’re capable of scoring against the best. But every goal is important, especially in the Champions League.
“I hope it will be a goal festival – but for us!”
Guirassy also had some words of praise for 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski who will face his former team once more.
“He has had a great career, is 36 years old and is still one of the best goalscorers in La Liga,” he added.
“That shows his level. He is a great player – everyone knows that. He does not have anything to prove.”
Lewandowski has also been banging in the goals in the Champions League. The veteran has nine in 10 European outings this season for Hansi Flick’s side.
