Barcelona boss Hansi Flick is being tipped to use Fermin Lopez rather than Gavi in Wednesday’s clash with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
According to La Sexta, the German coach was spotted rehearsing the following formation in Barcelona’s final training session before the match at Montjuic: Szczęsny; Kounde, Cubarsi, Iñigo, Balde; De Jong, Pedri, Fermin; Lamine, Lewandowski and Raphinha.
Flick’s big decision before the match is whether to go with Fermin, Gavi or even Ferran Torres for Dani Olmo’s spot in the starting XI for the match.
Gavi is due to take part in the pre-match press conference, which is often an indicator a player is going to start, but it seems he could miss out again to Fermin.
Neither player featured in Barcelona’s 3-2 win in the group phase back in December. Olmo started, while Ferran Torres was the hero as he came off the bench and scored twice.
