PORTLAND – Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry exited Friday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center with 1:59 to play in the first quarter after hitting his right hand against a defender.

He returned midway through the second quarter. 

With Justin Minaya guarding him as he scanned the court from the top of the key, Curry’s shooting hand clashed with his knee as he set up a left-to-right crossover dribble. The possession finished with a pass to Gary Payton II for a layup.

Curry repeatedly shook his hand on the ensuing defensive possession that ended with a stop for Golden State. He dribbled the length of the floor left-handed, finished a floater through traffic in the lane and walked into the tunnel by Golden State’s bench.

He returned to play at 8:02 in the second quarter with a wrap on his hand, converting a 3-pointer with 6:43 to play in the first half.

Curry, 37 in his 16th season, played January through a sprained right thumb.
