Final Jeopardy Answer for April 17

The correct answer for Final Jeopardy on April 17, 2025 is “Who is Dr. Doolittle?”

The famed English zoologist and primatologist Jane Goodall had several notable inspirations growing up. As noted by a National Geographic entry about her, she read two important books when she was eight, Tarzan and the Dr. Dolittle series, both of which made her fall in love with Africa. Getting a stuffed chimpanzee, instead of a teddy bear, from her father at a young age was also an important influence.

Serving as the source behind the popular Eddie Murphy movies, The Story of Doctor Dolittle written by British author Hugh Lofting in 1920 is about a doctor named John Dolittle who learns to talk to animals and is shipwrecked in Africa.
