While Bryan Woo will be a tough matchup for the Blue Jays, our MLB picks expect Bo Bichette to do some damage tonight.

The Toronto Blue Jays are riding high after grinding out a series win over the Braves this week, but they’ll face an even tougher test this weekend as they welcome the surging Seattle Mariners to Rogers Centre.

The Jays’ bats have not had the strongest start to the season, but Bo Bichette certainly has, and I’m banking on the shortstop to keep it up in my Mariners vs. Blue Jays predictions and MLB picks for Friday, April 18.

Mariners vs Blue Jays prediction

My Mariners vs Blue Jays best bet: Bo Bichette Over 1 total bases (-154 at BetVictor)

The Toronto Blue Jays eked out a 3-1 win in their rubber match against the Braves on Wednesday in another low-scoring pitchers’ duel as the clubs combined for just 11 hits.

There was some good news on the offensive front for Toronto, though, as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finally smashed his first home run of the season. Bo Bichette also stayed hot at the plate with two doubles and an RBI, and I’ll be looking for the shortstop to get on base again vs. a tough Seattle Mariners starter.

Bryan Woo emerged as a star for the Mariners last season with a 9-3 record as well as a stingy 2.89 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP over 22 starts. The right-hander has been just as good through his first three outings of 2025, boasting a 2.84 ERA while holding opposing batters to a .224 average.

If anyone’s going to get to Woo tonight, it’ll most likely be Bichette.

Bo has collected 2+ total bases in two straight games and four of his last five, while he’s recorded at least one hit in seven of his last nine contests. He’s also hitting surprisingly well against righties this season — he boasts a .318 average vs. right-handers compared to just .250 vs. southpaws.

I’m not expecting Toronto to do a ton of damage against Woo, but Bichette should still have himself a decent night.

Mariners vs Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Bo Bichette Over 0.5 hitsCal Raleigh Over 0.5 RBI

Bryan Woo Under 2.5 earned runs

Going back to Woo, the Mariners starter has held the opponent to just one earned run in two of his three appearances this season. The Blue Jays have also been slow starters, averaging just 2.21 runs through the first five innings (18th).

Cal Raleigh has also been a revelation for Seattle as the catcher ranks second in the majors with eight home runs, including six in the past week.

He’s knocked in an RBI in five of his last six games and could certainly keep that streak going against Jays starter Bowden Francis, who’s given up four long balls in just 11 innings of work.
