Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!
Tonight will be the 2025 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal match on Friday Night SmackDown. Typically, it doesn’t mean too much, as the winner doesn’t get pushed for long, but it’s still something noteworthy to potentially win throughout the year, and there’s always a chance this time, the trend bucks and it ends up being a bigger deal.
My question for you today is “Who do you think will win this year’s ATGMBR match?”

As far as my answer…
The way I see it, there are 6 possible names who would make sense to me as this year’s winner, depending on a few variables that we just don’t know about what WWE’s plans are.
Essentially, is Randy Orton going to be in this match and not have anything to do with WrestleMania itself, or will he do what I’m assuming he’ll do, show up on WrestleMania Sunday, do an open challenge, and have someone answer that?
If that does happen at WrestleMania, you can count him out of this match, as well as the potential opponents, which I think would come down to Aleister Black, Miro, Nick Aldis, or Rey Fenix. None of those guys, if they’re planned to face Orton, could win this, either, nor would Aldis even be in this match in the first place no matter what.
I call attention to Aleister Black and Miro because I don’t think it would make sense to have them show up for this match, rather than to show up at Mania itself or on the Raw or SmackDown after. Having them come out pre-battle royal spoils the match, and if they get no entrance at all, it spoils their return.
Thus, I’m leaning more toward Rey Fenix winning this, as he’s a fresh ticket item and it’d be a nice feather in his cap, or for it to be between Ludwig Kaiser and Solo Sikoa. Those are two guys who fit the mold for getting a random nod this weekend that isn’t an actual midcard title. No other “bigger name” people should realistically be in this match to fill a more Bobby Lashley type role, unless it’s maybe Shinsuke Nakamura, but I just think they’ll overlook him as they’ve done in the past.
My gut says Fenix is winning this, more than anything else.
