The Grizzlies are officially in do-or-die territory.
Memphis battled back from a 20-point deficit in Tuesday’s play-in game against the Warriors, but the Grizzlies lost and are now headed to another play-in game on Friday. They’ll host the winner of Wednesday’s Kings vs. Mavericks game in Sacramento.

The winner of Friday’s game at FedExForum will advance to the NBA playoffs and will face the No. 1 Thunder in a seven-game series.
Though the Grizzlies have been reeling, they’ll be favored to win on Friday. The Mavericks are without Kyrie Irving — who is out for the season with a torn ACL — while the Kings also have an interim coach and traded star De’Aaron Fox at the NBA trade deadline.
The Grizzlies will have an extra day to prepare for the game, and that could help because star guard Ja Morant suffered an apparent ankle injury during Tuesday’s loss. He returned to the game after the injury but was limping. His health status will be a key storyline heading into Friday, when the Grizzlies will need to win to extend their season.
- Date: Wednesday, April 16
The Grizzlies will play on Friday at FedExForum. The game will tip off at 8:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on TNT.
