Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the top seed, moved into the semi-finals of the Rouen Open by winning against Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro 6-3, 6-2 at the Kindarena on Friday evening.

Svitolina, ranked No 18, will face Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse next.

The Ukrainian beat Swiss Jil Teichmann (6-4, 6-2) and Anhelina Kalinina (6-4, 6-0) in the previous rounds of the Rouen tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, Bouzas Maneiro, ranked No 73, defeated Greek Maria Sakkari (6-0, 3-6, 6-3) and Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva (6-3, 6-3).
