Dodgers’ injury woes mount as their $136 million arm forced to leave game early

For everything the Los Angeles Dodgers have going for them as an organization, player health is not one of them. On both sides of the ball, the Dodgers have either already had to deal with ailments to key players or are still dealing with their absence. The lineup is mostly healthy these days, but the pitching staff is a different story and has raised the importance of guys like Tyler Glasnow staying healthy.

Unfortunately, Glasnow avoiding the injury bug has been very difficult for him in his career. Just last season, Glasnow dealt with an elbow injury as well as other ailments that limited him to just 22 starts last season.

Well, you can now add 2025 to the many seasons where Glasnow’s body wasn’t able to hold up. In the fifth inning of his start against the Rangers, Glasnow was forced to leave the game early with a trainer with some sort of leg injury.

Welp, now Tyler Glasnow is out of the game

After throwing a 93.7 mph fastball on his first pitch in the fifth, Glasnow seemed to be flexing his right leg/ankle. That brought a trainer back to the mound. His day is done after 4+ scoreless innings https://t.co/dvM3ZHqnxc

Tyler Glasnow forced out of Dodgers’ game early with yet another injury

We don’t have a lot of details as to what is bothering Glasnow other than it seemed like his right leg and/or ankle was bothering him right as he began to throw in the fifth. The Dodgers’ trainer came out for a quick chat and Glasnow was out of the game with Luis Garcia having to get warmed up rather quickly.

We’ll get an update from the team soon enough, but this did seem like something that was just bothering Glasnow and not an overly serious situation. Make sure you knock on wood especially given how this season has gone thus far, but it doesn’t seem all that likely that Glasnow is seriously hurt here.

This is ultimately what the Dodgers signed up for when they extended Glasnow. When he is on the mound, Glasnow is brilliant and one of the most talented arms in the game. Unfortunately, he just isn’t on the mound enough to fully take advantage of that talent.
