The Last of Us season 2 is finally here and it’s also taking us five years after the events of season 1 as we see Joel and Ellie settle in Jackson. But just because we’re stepping further in to the future doesn’t mean that their past won’t come back to haunt them. In fact, there’s one character that fans are both excited and scared to see when it comes to the future of this story and that is Abby. But for those who might be new to this world, you might be wondering who exactly is she. Well this mystery character is just starting to unfold so get ready.

Who is Abby in The Last of Us season 2?
When the season starts, not much is known about Abby herself, but one thing we do know is that she is out for revenge. It is later revealed in episode 2 that she was part of the Fireflies and is still mourning the loss of her father who was the doctor that Joel killed when he tried to get Ellie back after finding out what they originally planned to do to her back in season 1. Abby and her group have been trying to find Joel throughout the years and finally end up getting close when they discover Jackson.
When Abby takes Joel to the safe house where her and her friends have been after he saves her from a nearby horde attack in the middle of a blizzard near Jackson. She reveals to him that she has been part of a militia group based in Seattle, the WLF, for the last five years and has been tracking Joel down to kill him for what he had done. Abby tells him that she found her father dead and, as previously seen in episode 2, the memory still haunts her. The nurses who her father was working with had previously revealed to her that it was Joel who killed him, kicking off her revenge plan when she was just 19-years-old.
Abby proceeds to shoot Joel in the knee, hit him in that same spot with a golf club, and punches him several times in order to kill him slowly. However, when Ellie comes by and sees what is happening, Abby ultimately kills him by stabbing him in the neck with one half of the golf club that previously snapped in half. Ellie warns that she will kill Abby and her group off as they proceed to leave the house leaving Ellie and Dina, who they previously used a sedative to knock her out, behind.

Who is Abby in The Last of Us video game?
Abby is a playable character in the game where you find out more about her past and who she is. You find out that her father was one of the Fireflies that were killed in Joel’s attack. She proceeds to track him down and finds them right at the beginning of the game where players later than switch to play as her. We won’t share more than that because we don’t want to spoil you, but we’re definitely interested in seeing how it all plays in the game.
