McDonald’s is known as the world’s leading fast-food company, with over 43,000 locations worldwide and millions of fans who have enjoyed its offerings since 1940.

However, the fast food giant has faced some troublesome times over the last few quarters, with sales slowdowns and an E. coli outbreak that caused a massive recall on one of its most popular menu items. It has also received continuous backlash and boycotts due to its price increases, recent changes in its DEI practices, and other societal issues.
McDonald’s has aggressively sought ways to win back U.S. customers and get its business back on track. And it just made a surprising announcement fans have been awaiting for nearly a decade.
McDonald’s teases release date for the return of Snack Wraps.

The McDonald’s (MCD) Snack Wrap was introduced nationwide in 2006 and quickly became popular among customers.
However, after employees expressed how complicated the menu item was to make, causing longer wait times on orders, the company ultimately decided to discontinue it in 2016.
Although this was the best decision for the business at the time, fans continued to plead with McDonald’s to bring this favorite food item back, causing the fast-food chain to return it for a limited time across select locations nationwide in 2020.
Although incredibly popular among consumers, the Snack Wrap was again banished from the McDonald’s menu by the end of that year and has not been seen since.
As chicken-based fast-food chains such as Raising Cane’s and Chick-fil-A gained traction in the industry, McDonald’s announced in 2023 that it would shift its focus to chicken-based menu items and teased the possible return of the famous Snack Wraps.
During its latest earnings call, McDonald’s announced it would add the popular Snack Wraps to its menu along with other chicken-focused offerings.
“We’re excited about the significant opportunity we see within our chicken portfolio and see the potential to add another point of chicken market share by the end of 2026,” said McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski. “This year, there is incredible energy for the return of Snack Wraps in the U.S., along with a few other markets,” he added.
Although the fast-food giant teased the return of the Snack Wrap, it didn’t provide a specific date for its nationwide relaunch.

However, McDonald’s posted on all its social media platforms yesterday the date “snack wraps 0x.14.2025” to build excitement for the highly anticipated Snack Wraps release. This means the menu item could be released as soon as the 14th of May, June, July, August, or September of this year.
The post created mass speculation around the potential date for the relaunch, with one TikTok user, @McDonalds_Hacks101, claiming it was May 14. However, the company has yet to confirm this prediction.
