Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …
Jimmy Kempski’s full first-round 2025 NFL mock draft – PhillyVoice
21) Eagles (trade with Steelers): Walter Nolen, iDL, Ole Miss: I’ve been told by multiple people that Nolen is a player the Eagles covet. If he makes it into the 20’s, I could see them trading up for him. (Disclaimer: Draft info always has been and will continue to be unreliable, so take that for what it’s worth.) Let’s say the cost to move up from 32 to 21 is something like the Eagles’ 3 this year, and their 3 in 2026.
NFL mock draft 2025: Final projection for first day featuring latest rumors – SB Nation
24. TRADE: Philadelphia Eagles (via Minnesota Vikings): Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss. Nolen and the Eagles feel like a perfect fit, and the Eagles aren’t afraid to jump for the guy they want. Minnesota is in desperate need of draft picks despite potentially liking the upside of Nolen, but the Eagles make them too good of a deal here and Philly gets a replacement for Milton Williams.
Round 1, No. 32: Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss. He’s the ideal player for the Eagles based on playing style, upside, and positional value. The problem? The word all week is that Nolen won’t make it this far — and he might even go as high as No. 8 to Carolina or No. 11 to San Francisco, in which case it seems foolish to mock a player in the top-10 all the way to the Eagles at No. 32. But he’s not a consensus top-15 pick, and there are scenarios — such as from NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah on Wednesday — in which Nolen is available at No. 32. The key will be when quarterbacks go off the board. If three quarterbacks don’t go off the board in the top 20-25 picks, then my guess is the Eagles end up trading out of the first round because there’s been more of a run on line of scrimmage players than I anticipate. If he falls into the 20s, he’s worth a trade up, so we can make this No. 32, No. 96 and a 2026 fifth-round pick to Minnesota for No. 24 and you can scratch off my No. 96 pick here if you’re insistent that Nolen won’t fall to No. 32. I’m not so sure on that. So, let’s keep it as No. 32 if it’s plausible and also to entertain potential options at the other eight picks. The backup pick here is Boston College’s Donovan Ezeiruaku. The sleeper pick is Josh Simmons. I’m going 40 percent trade up, 40 percent trade back, 20 percent stick-and-pick.
The Eagles Effect – Iggles Blitz
Chris Jones has been a dominant DT for the Chiefs. He was the 37th overall player taken in 2016 and developed into a HOFer. Jalen Carter was the top prospect in 2023, but fell down to pick 9 due to character concerns. The Eagles snatched him up and he’s been dominant for Philly. I wonder if Carter’s performance will have an effect on how teams view Walter Nolen. Nolen is a Top 15 talent, but there has been talk of him sliding to the 20’s/30’s. Some wondered if he might slide to the 2nd round. In the last few days there are more and more mock drafts showing him as a Top 15 pick. Dallas is one of the teams being linked to him. Are the Cowboys hoping Nolen is the next Carter? The Niners are also being rumored as a landing spot for Nolen. Same question would apply. Those are two teams who hate the Eagles and would love to catch up to them. Or maybe this is just noise and Nolen will slide. If he does, you know Howie will keep an eye on him. Nolen and Carter would be a dynamic duo at DT.
“These guys have special ball skills, but with the deeper draft at defensive line, I think it’s where the Eagles may go,” Baldinger said. “If it were up to me, I would take Darius Alexander, out of Toledo. The Eagles struck gold with Quinyon Mitchell from Toledo last year, and maybe they go back to the well one more time. Lining up next to Jalen Carter is a big help to anyone. Alexander has size, he has length, he’s physical. You can get great players from any conference. I was down at the Senior Bowl for two days, watching him play up against SEC competition, and Alexander looked really good.”
2025 NFL mock draft: Yates’ Round 1 predictions, Kiper’s intel – ESPN+
32. Philadelphia Eagles. Yates’ pick prediction: Donovan Ezeiruaku, Edge, Boston College. After 16.5 sacks in 2024, Ezeiruaku burst onto the first-round radar. He is long and instinctive, and he uses his physical tools and savviness to keep tackles on their heels. The Eagles are looking to replenish their edge depth after Josh Sweat left for Arizona in free agency.
2025 NFL Draft: One draft prediction for every NFL team – PFF
Eagles find their future replacement for Lane Johnson. I floated this possibility yesterday in a piece about Eagles general manager Howie Roseman’s legendary draft-week wizardry — and I like it enough to double down here. Ohio State left tackle Josh Simmons looked like a top-10 pick last season before tearing his patellar tendon, and with the injury still fresh, he’s likely to slide a bit. The Eagles are in a perfect position to let Simmons redshirt behind future Hall of Famer Lane Johnson. In the six games before his injury, Simmons didn’t allow a single pressure.
Spadaro: Will history repeat itself at No. 32 on Thursday night? – PE.com
What we remember from the 2018 NFL Draft is David Akers, Eagles Hall of Fame placekicker, standing at the podium in Dallas to announce Philadelphia’s second-round selection, screaming into the microphone to announce the 49th pick. “What’s up Dallas! We heard you in Philly last year (the site of the 2017 NFL Draft). Dallas, the last time you won the Super Bowl, these draft picks weren’t born!” Akers said, beyond excited. “Tonight, we are welcoming into the Eagles’ family, the 49th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft … Dallas Goedert! He is a tight end from South Dakota State …” That was the first pick of the draft for the Eagles after winning Super Bowl LII. When the 2018 NFL Draft began, the Eagles held pick No. 32 in Round 1, and when it was time for them to select, they traded the pick to Baltimore, which used No. 32 to select Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson. It turned out to be a win/win deal.
Commanders fans are open to the idea of drafting a kicker this weekend – Hogs Haven
In this week’s Reacts survey, we asked Hogs Haven readers if the team should draft a kicker in the later rounds of this weekend’s draft. I’m a bit surprised at how little resistance there is to the idea given that Washington has only 5 draft picks in hand.
Majority of Cowboys fans see a trade down in the first round of the draft – Blogging The Boys
The 2025 NFL Draft is finally here. 32 NFL teams will try to improve their roster over the next few days, but the big impacts usually come from the first-round picks. The Dallas Cowboys have 10 picks overall, and hold the 12th pick in the first round. Over this offseason we’ve had plenty of debate about who they make take at 12. Ashton Jeanty was an early favorite until everybody realized he was going to be gone by pick 12. Wide receiver Luther Burden was also an early favorite, but he’s been replaced by Tetairoa McMillan and Matthew Golden as the overwhelming favorites. But there is another strategy and that is to engage in trades. Either move up or move down in the first round. Moving up allows you to target a star player, but costs draft capital. Trading down can risk missing out on your guy, but it can also add important draft picks. So what will the Cowboys do? We asked the fanbase and they overwhelmingly said the Cowboys will trade down in the first round.
Survey results: Most Giants fans do not want to trade up for a quarterback – Big Blue View
But after the No. 3 pick is where things get interesting. Each of the three mocks also features the Giants trading back into the first round to select Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart. The thinking is that Dart fits the type of football that Brian Daboll wants to play as a bigger-bodied passer with athleticism, plus arm strength, and a willingness to throw the deep ball. Each also believes that the Giants will be aggressive in pursuing “their guy” as opposed to hoping a quarterback of the future falls to them. However, most Giants fans would rather they wait and take who falls to them. Only 42% of Giants fans would approve of the team trading up from 34 and back into the first round for a quarterback.
