Nebraska defensive lineman Ty Robinson didn’t hear his name called on day two of the NFL Draft on Friday, but if the pundits are to be believed, Robinson won’t need to wait very long on Saturday.
After rounds two and three on Friday, Nebraska defensive lineman Ty Robinson is rated by ESPN as the No. 10 available overall player left on the draft board. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr., has Robinson as the No. 9 best overall available player available when the draft gets rolling again on Saturday. CBSSports sees Robinson as the No. 6 available defensive lineman left on the board.
Robinson was seen by some pundits as a potential day-two pick, which would have given Nebraska its first pick on day two of the draft since 2022. That season, center Cam Jurgens went in the second round to the Philadelphia Eagles and cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt was picked in the second round by the Cincinnati Bengals. The players picked on day two before that came in 2016 when Maliek Collins and Vincent Valentine were both third-round picks.
Nebraska went without a draft pick in 2024.
At the tight end spot, ESPN sees Husker tight end Thomas Fidone as the No. 5 available tight end, while CBSSports has Fidone as the No. 6 available tight end in the draft.
CBSSports has Husker wide receiver Isaiah Neyor as the No. 8 overall available wide receiver, while ESPN sees Neyor, who tested well at the NFL Combine, as its No. 14 available wide receiver.
Nebraska cornerback Tommi Hill, who didn’t workout at the NFL Combine or at Nebraska’s Pro Day, is seen as the No. 4 available cornerback by ESPN, while CBSSports sees Hill as its No. 15 available corner heading into day two, after two corners went in the first round on Thursday.
Several other Huskers are likely to land with teams as undrafted free agents or earn minicamp opportunities.
Rounds four through seven kick off at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday.
