Chargers draft grades: How the media is grading seventh round pick Trikweze Bridges

The Los Angeles Chargers wrapped up the 2025 NFL Draft with a defensive back pick. The team selected Florida defensive back Trikweze Bridges with the 256th overall pick of the draft. Bridges has played safety and cornerback and will need to show that versatility to earn a roster spot. As a late seventh round pick, his roster chances are long. He’ll get his first chance on special teams, but he’ll get a chance to compete in the defensive backfield.

A couple of draft grades have come in, and you can let us know what you think in the poll below.

USA Today: B+

Bridges is all about traits. He started at both cornerback and safety for Florida in 2024 and led the team in tackles. He’s an impressive athlete at 6-foot-2 and 196 pounds with long arms. He’ll need time to develop in coverage but has lots of upside, especially as a special teamer.

CBS Sports: B-

Bridges has a long, filled out frame. He has a consistent history of production at the collegiate level. Bridges will shrink passing windows and has the length to recover down the field.
