JJ Redick Announces Luka Doncic News After Lakers’ Loss to Timberwolves

The Los Angeles Lakers entered Game 3 in Minneapolis seeking to build on Tuesday’s Game 2 win after splitting the first two games with the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, Minnesota’s all-around effort proved too much for the Lakers, who fell 116-104 and now trail the series 2-1. LA took a four-point lead into halftime but a second half surge from Minnesota swung the game irrevocably.

Luka Doncic, who had averaged 34 points across Games 1 and 2, was hampered by illness, finishing with just 17 points on 6-of-16 shooting, along with eight rebounds and seven assists. LeBron James again shouldered a heavy load, pouring in 38 points, while adding ten rebounds and dishing four assists, yet even that effort couldn’t stave off the Wolves’ balanced attack.

Amid postgame inquiries into his star’s underwhelming outing, head coach JJ Redick revealed that Doncic “hasn’t been feeling well for the last 24 hours,” noting that the Slovenian was “vomiting all afternoon” and saw his sleep impacted heading into the contest.

The admission helps explain Doncic’s uncharacteristic fourth-quarter fade and raises fresh concerns about his availability as the series shifts to Game 4 in Minnesota on Sunday.

Sunday’s rematch will be pivotal for both teams: a Lakers win would even the series and restore confidence, while a Timberwolves victory would put Minnesota one win from knocking off the West’s No. 3 seed on its home floor.
