Is everyone ready for a proper Elland Road party? Expect the celebrations to go long into the night as Premier League-bound Leeds United face Bristol City in their final home match of the campaign.
The Whites are locked in an absorbing title race with Burnley, having already secured promotion to the top flight. They enter the Robins clash full of confidence after thrashing Stoke City 6-0 last time out and knowing maximum points from their final two fixtures will guarantee them top spot.
But boss Daniel Farke is refusing to take play-off chasing Bristol City lightly. Farke, whose side conclude a memorable season with a trip to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, said: “If someone deserves to be successful this year then it’s Liam [Manning, Bristol City boss] after all he’s been through.
“There are no gifts in this league, they have a chance to finish in the top six. He’s doing an outstanding job, many impressive results, they’ll fight for their lives. It’s definitely not a walk in the park. It’ll be a good atmosphere at Elland Road and one of the toughest tests.”
Speedy winger Daniel James, shortlisted for the Championship player of the season award, was not involved against Stoke after returning prematurely from a hamstring injury. With promotion secured, it is unlikely the Wales international will be risked.
Bournemouth loanee Joe Rothwell could make a welcome return to action after shrugging off his calf problem. Pascal Struijk (foot) and Sam Chambers (glandular fever) are not expected to play again this season.
Talented striker Harry Gray will be hoping to be given a run-out for the second match running after featuring as a late substitute against the Potters.
