Bluesky has proven itself as a popular alternative to X (formerly Twitter) but it’s not immune to problems. If you’re wondering ‘Is Bluesky down?’ here’s how to check.

With more than 30 million users, Bluesky (aka Bsky) going down is inconvenient and there appears to be an outage taking place on 29 April.

According to Downdetector, a reliable source for service status information, tens of thousands of users have reported issues with the app and website. It seems the issue started around 11am BST and is affecting users in the UK and US at the least.

We don’t have any information from Bluesky on the problem such as how long it will take to fix, since it can’t post on its own platform to inform users and the official status page simply says “some systems down”.

This comes only a few days after the site’s last major outage. For now, your best bet is to keep refreshing and keep an eye on Downdetector.
