Star Wars Day: Correct Order Of Films, Series To Watch This Space Saga In Chronology

For Star Wars fandom, May the 4th holds a special importance. Also called Star Wars Day, it is universally celebrated on May 4. It is an informal day to celebrate the space epic. Infact, the day was chosen by fans as a nod to the franchise’s most popular catchphrases: “May the force be with you.”

The Star Wars movies kicked off with Star Wars: Episode 4 – A New Hope in 1977. It was followed by the sequels The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983) forming the original trilogy. 22 years later, Star Wars prequel trilogy was born with Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005).

Star Wars creator George Lucas sold Lucasfilm that made these mvoies to Disney in 2012. This gave way to Star Wars sequel trilogy including Episodes VII to IX: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).

It is totally understandable that one might feel “lost in the galaxy far, far away” due to the jump sequence of the films that are not chronologically placed. So how can you tune in these films if you’re a beginner?
