Multiple people injured in shooting at Glendale restaurant

GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Multiple people are hurt after a shooting broke out at a Glendale steakhouse Sunday night.

Details are extremely limited.

Police say the shooting happened around 7:45 pm. at El Camaron Gigante near Grand and Glendale avenues.

Officers say up to nine people could be injured. The scene is still very active as detectives work to determine what led up to the shooting.

Police say there is no longer a safety concern to the public, but they also say no arrests have been made. Officers have detained multiple people and are working to determine their involvement. They believe more than one shooter was involved.

“I heard people yelling out names. There was a man on the ground and it didn’t look like he made it,” Lupe Rodriguez, a bystander, said. “His father was yelling out his name. It was pretty bad.”

Rodriguez said he had to run to safety. He is still shaken by the experience, but is grateful he and his friends made it out alive.
