Watch: Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Attending Met Gala 2025? Here’s the Truth
Fashion’s biggest night will be missing a few MVPs.
Indeed, shortly after the 2025 Met Gala‘s honorary co-chair LeBron James confirmed he’ll be unable to attend the May 5 event, E! News has learned Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce won’t be making an appearance at the star-studded gala, held at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. The 2025 Met Gala—hosted by Vogue‘s Anna Wintour and co-chairs A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton and Pharrell Williams—would’ve marked a rare joint outing for Travis and Taylor. The duo has been spending time together out of the spotlight in recent months since the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl.
While Travis continues to make weekly appearances on his and brother Jason Kelce‘s New Heights podcast, Taylor has been out of the public eye after celebrating the end of her history-making Eras Tour. In fact, Taylor has not been photographed since stepping out for dinner in NYC with Travis in March.
In the months ahead, Travis will be training for his 13th season with the Chiefs.
“Gonna try and get to the best shape I’ve been this offseason,” the 35-year-old shared in text to ESPN host Pat McAfee, who read the message during the Feb. 27 episode of the Pat McAfee Show, “and get back to the mountaintop.”

“Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game,” Travis continued, “and how I got the guys ready for battle. I can’t go out like that!!!!”

And there’s no doubt Taylor will be there to support him every step of the way, as she’s done the past two NFL seasons.
“I’m going to see him do what he loves,” she told TIME in December 2023, “we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care.”
Case in point, Travis attended a number of Taylor’s concerts during her Eras Tour run, which came to an end in December.
“The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone,” Taylor noted. “And we’re just proud of each other.”
