WESH TWO NEWS. ALL RIGHT, PAM, WE ARE FOLLOWING BREAKING NEWS IN JACKSONVILLE. JACKSONVILLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS CLOSED RIGHT NOW. ALL FLIGHTS ARE GROUNDED AFTER THIS. SEVERAL CARS CAUGHT FIRE INSIDE ONE OF THE PARKING GARAGES. A CITY OFFICIAL SAYS NO ONE WAS SERIOUSLY HURT.

Jacksonville’s major airport closed temporarily after a fire broke out in a parking garage Friday afternoon. Jacksonville International Airport posted on X around 1:30 p.m. saying, “due to a fire in the Hourly Garage, the airport is currently closed. JFRD is on-site working the issue.” The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it was blocking inbound and outbound road access to the airport.The airport said other parking facilities (Daily Garage, Daily Surface Lot and Economy Lots) are accessible. Airport shuttle buses are still running, the airport said. The pick-up location is the pre-arranged/premier parking lot on the lower level of the baggage area.One flight from Denver to Jacksonville was diverted to Orlando, airport officials told WESH 2. A vehicle caught fire in a parking garage, officials said.Officials were hoping to reopen later Friday.No injuries were reported.
