CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) — It may be a Sunday in March, but the Browns were still the talk of the town in Cleveland.
The news of Myles Garrett signing a contract extension with the Browns had fans who spoke to Fox 8 mostly excited.
“It leads me to believe that the whole time it was about the money, but neither here nor there. Super glad he’s here. It’s crazy. Until 2030? I couldn’t ask for a better day,” Browns fan Christopher Jackson said.
“That’s exciting because he’s been here a long time. He’s like a staple in Cleveland,” Angelique Gill said.
Fans like Jackson did admit they would’ve been alright with a trade following Garrett’s public demand, but they’re glad he changed his mind.

Several people did tell Fox 8 they would’ve preferred a trade to land more draft assets.
Now, Browns fans are expecting the front office to field a winning team in 2025.
The deal comes with the added bonus for Browns fans who say they won’t own a jersey for a player who no longer plays in Cleveland.
“Nobody wanted him to leave. So, now I can wear my Myles Garrett jersey still,” Jackson said. “Go Brownies.”
