The Patriots burned some cash Monday, reportedly agreeing to contracts with several standout free agents who should boost New England’s chances of contending in 2025.
The biggest prize: defensive tackle Milton Williams, who reportedly agreed to a four-year, $104 million deal with $63 million guaranteed.
Patriots fans understandably were excited about the Williams news, especially since it initially looked like the former Philadelphia Eagles star was taking his talents elsewhere. And Williams’ social media activity Monday will only fire up those fans even more.
Around 3 p.m. ET, the Patriots (official account) posted on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) a photo of an “Entering Milton” sign. Williams reposted the pic, along with a GIF of a waving Patriots flag.

If that wasn’t enough, Williams also took to Instagram, where he posted an IG story of himself edited into a Patriots uniform. He reshared several New England-centric posts, as well, making it clear he was Foxboro bound.

The Williams deal was one of several geared toward improving New England’s defense, which took a step back last season in Jerod Mayo’s lone year as head coach.
The Patriots’ hope, obviously, is that an aggressive offseason, the arrival of new head coach Mike Vrabel and further development from quarterback Drake Maye will combine for brighter days for the franchise after back-to-back 4-13 seasons.
