President Donald Trump will view and purchase a Tesla that is being delivered to the White House on Tuesday afternoon, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

“A Tesla is on its way here now and we’ll see if the president likes it when he checks it out,” Leavitt said, adding that he intends to buy one.

Trump said earlier Tuesday in a Truth Social post he would buy a Tesla to support Elon Musk as shares for the tech billionaire’s company drop. Leavitt signaled Trump wouldn’t make use of the car, given he is president and escorted in the presidential state car.

“I have heard the president remark that he misses being able to drive, that luxury of being able to drive his own vehicle although The Beast is nice,” Leavitt said, referring to the presidential state car.
