It’s going to be an electric atmosphere as two of the top teams in the NBA square off in what could be an NBA Finals preview, with the Oklahoma City Thunder (53-12) traveling east to face the Boston Celtics (47-18).

The Thunder are coming off a rare home loss to the Denver Nuggets (140-127), just their fifth home loss of the season. The loss snapped a seven-game win streak for the Thunder, who sit comfortably in the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, 11 games ahead of the Nuggets. Defense was a major issue for the usually stout Thunder, as they allowed the Nuggets to shoot a whopping 60.5% from the field and 56.3% from the 3-point line for the game. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 25, and Lu Dort added 26, but it would not be enough.

Boston comes in riding a five-game win streak, most recently winning 114-108 against the Utah Jazz in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score showed. The Celtics led by 21 heading to the fourth quarter, then couldn’t figure out Brice Sensabaugh, who scored 17 points on 6-for-8 from the field (4-for-5 on 3-pointers) in the final frame. Utah would fight back to tie the score 103-103 before Boston went on an 11-5 run to end the game. Sam Hauser led the Celtics in scoring with 33, shooting 9-for-19 from the 3-point line.
This is the second and final regular season matchup between the Thunder and Celtics, with Boston winning on Oklahoma City’s court 105-92 in early January.
