The Oscars are undeniably one of Hollywood’s most eagerly anticipated nights, and of the numerous prestigious awards that will be handed out this evening, certainly one of the most closely watched has been the race for Best Actor. Among the five contenders for the statue is Adrien Brody for his role in The Brutalist, who walked the red carpet tonight looking dapper in a classic black and white tuxedo look.
Brody added a touch of sparkle to the look with an oversized brooch worn along the side of his right lapel. It’s a statement Brody favors—he’s worn oversized brooches many times on the red carpet, including earlier this year at the Golden Globes.
Brody previously took home the Best Actor award in 2003 for his role in The Pianist, and has been having an impressive run so far this awards season. He won the BAFTA, Critics Choice Award, and Golden Globe, though just last week he lost out on the SAG award to fellow Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet, so there’s still plenty of speculation as to who will be taking home the gold tonight.
In addition to Brody’s nod, The Brutalist is up for nine other awards, including Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting nods for both Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce.
