Jump to RecipeHoly saffron tea ! Look at that gorgeous color ! Let me tell you that I am so proud of how this turned out. Seriously I did not even miss my iced coconut milk latte yesterday, as I was happily sipping away on my iced saffron tea.
It is insanely hot in California ( just look at that pitcher sweating within half a second outside), and this is a fabulous way to stay hydrated while keeping your skin glowing and healthy. Yes, healthy skin is what you get from drinking rooibos tea, imagine that ! I’m not even gonna go into the health benefits of saffron, but just off the top of my head saffron is really good for you and me.
From preventing disease to promoting overall well being of our bodies, saffron is a spice to be treasured. I picked up a jar at the market the other week, a nice deep red Spanish saffron that I usually need to make my healthy Spanish paella. And as i was going trough my spice rack it dawned on me that I should make some refreshing iced saffron tea.
After all, on top of all its health properties, saffron is also your skin’s best friend, and who doesn’t want beautiful glowing healthy skin ? From giving you a radiant complexion to helping with the treatment of acne, saffron is a spice to be kept close by.
Come to think off it, you can actually make this saffron tea into the finest skin toner to keep in your refrigerator, minus the honey of course. I’m definitely doing that myself !
Now I know what you might be thinking:” but saffron is the most expensive spice in the world ! Come on Florentina ! “ True statement I can not argue with, but the great news is that you only need a pinch of if, a few threads for an entire pitcher. I actually did the math based on my recent purchase, and i really just used about $0.75 worth of saffron threads. That is less than a dollar for something that will keep you hydrated and healthy- true bargain kids !
So who’s in for some glowing healthy skin this summer ?
And those peaches and basil together with the vanilla, really kick up the magic going on in that pitcher of saffron tea. I swear I had the greatest luck with peaches this year, the juiciest most fragrant peaches on the planet. hallelujah !
P.S. I sure do hope you guys like my saffron tea photos, because holding up that pitcher with your left hand while trying to snap a photo with your iPhone in the other hand, while trying not to fall in the pool, takes some serious skill combination, of strength, focus and determination. The things I do for you kids. Now I’m off to pack my bags for Sicily ! Ciao ! Xo’s
P.P.S. I Still have no clue how Google works, I read so much about keywords and code lately that I’m more confused than ever, hence the awesome title of this post. I mean, how are you supposed to get into a robot’s heart ? At the moment I’m wondering if he likes saffron tea and glowing skin …
