Bob Uecker Is Getting a Custard Flavor at Kopp’s

Monday marks the first Brewers home opener without Bob Uecker in over 50 years, after the broadcasting legend’s death in January. To mark the occasion, Kopp’s Frozen Custard is unveiling a new flavor in his honor.

Mr. Baseball” will be a caramel malt custard, topped with beer nuts, fudge-covered peanuts and “a splash of Miller Lite.” The flavor will only be available on March 31, the same day as the Brewers home opener against the Kansas City Royals.

“I got free custard every time I got a hit – so that was about once a month,” Uecker told CBS Sunday Morning in 2017. “You don’t get custard on the coast like you get in the Midwest. You can’t. Because the cows in California are too hot. Cows in the Midwest in the winter shake and shiver – that’s what gives the custard the air.”

According to Kopp’s flavor preview, the frozen custard chain will donate 20% of the sales from “Mr. Baseball” to the Make-A-Wish Foundation (a nod to Uecker’s .200 batting average).

Uecker died at the age of 90 in January, after broadcasting for 54 seasons with the Brewers.
