The 89th Masters Tournament is just a day away from its Thursday, April 10 start, but the PGA and LIV players are already warming up for the legendary event.
Australian golfer Cam Smith is stirring up some buzz not for his game, but for the outfit he chose to wear on the links on April 9. The 31-year-old athlete kept on his navy blue sports coat while he was hitting some balls — and fans have questions.
“I’m not sure how one makes a full swing in that,” one fan questioned on X under Golf Digest‘s post. “Dress for the job you want! Congrats on the MLB Umpire gig,” joked another account. There is also this smart point from a supporter who noted, “He’s visualizing himself in a green jacket at the end of the week.”

Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are the favorites to win the 2025 Masters, but Smith is definitely one of the long shots hoping to spoil their game. Still, there seems to be a more subtle reason for the athlete’s attire.
Outkick pointed out that Smith’s jacket had “a Greyson Clothiers logo, his longtime apparel sponsor.” His wardrobe decision might actually be a marketing ploy — and it’s working.
Greyson Clothiers also entered the chat. They posted a detailed look at his full attire, writing in the caption, “Style statement for the biggest stage. Cam Smith introduces the Sequoia Blazer at Augusta. Click the link in our bio to shop Cam’s major looks.”
A second post also mentioned the Augusta tournament’s iconic green jacket which is given each year to the winner. “Blue Jacket … Green Jacket … The Greyson Sequoia Blazer as seen on Cam Smith.”
Maybe this will be Smith’s big week.
