Camping World flag back up after briefly being taken down

UPDATE: The flag is back up after being down for a couple hours. They’re lowering it as far down as they can to resemble half-mast.

GREENVILLE N.C. (WNCT) — The 3,200 square foot flag at Camping World in Greenville that has been flying was taken down.

WNCT was the first to speak with the General Manager about the reason for the sudden change.

“A couple of things,” said Jim Foskey, General Manager of Camping World in Greenville. “We’re mourning for the Pope. The flag was requested to be flown at half-staff, and due to its size, we couldn’t lower it properly. So we’ve taken the flag down in mourning for the Pope. Once that period is over, the flag will go back up. We also noticed a small tear in one corner of the flag. Out of respect for the flag, we’re replacing it with a new one, which will be raised once the mourning period ends.”

They added that once the flag goes back up, they do not intend to take it down again.
