Detroit Tigers game times vs New York Yankees: TV, how to watch games moved up for weather

The Detroit Tigers will take on the New York Yankees at Comerica Park to start the week and every game time has been moved up because of weather.

Initially, the Tigers were set to kickoff their series with the Bronx Bombers at 6:40 p.m. on Monday, however, that start time has been moved to 3:10 p.m. as rain and snow (yes, SNOW) showers are possible.

Additionally, the games on Tuesday and Wednesday against the Yankees have been moved to 1:10 p.m.

While it may be an inconvenience for fans who had planned to make it out to the game in the evening, moving the time up to when it’ll be marginally warmer is certainly in the best interest of the majority of people planning to be in Comerica Park.

“It was a collaboration of everybody,” Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Sunday morning. “And I’m really happy with everybody. Because given what the forecast says, not that it’s going to be balmy during the day, but it’s going to be better.”

The Weather Channel forecasts the temperature to be around 43 degrees at first pitch at 3:10, but temps will be in the 30s by the time the game was originally scheduled to be played at 6:40 p.m.

After dropping the first three games of the season, the Tigers bounced back with back-to-back series wins over the Mariners and then a sweep of the lowly White Sox, finished off with a walk-off hit from Spencer Torkelson.

With the win on Sunday, the Tigers were in first place in the American League Central.

Torkelson’s walk-off winner was a continuation of his remarkable start to the year after entering spring training on the outside looking in for a roster spot.

The former No. 1 overall pick made some big swing changes and its had a remarkable impact on not only him, but the whole team as his right-handed bat is exactly what the team needed.
