The 2025 men’s NCAA Tournament continues with Sweet 16 action kicking into gear on Thursday.
Cooper Flagg and No. 1 seed Duke will take on No. 4 seed Arizona at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, for the third of four regional semifinal matchups this weekend, ahead of the Elite Eight.
The Blue Devils have breezed through the first two rounds with victories over No. 16 seed Mount St. Mary’s (93-49) and No. 9 Baylor (89-66) to advance to the East Region semifinal matchup. Meanwhile, the Wildcats have wins over No. 13 Akron (93-65) and No. 5 Oregon (87-83).
Duke defeated Arizona earlier this season 69-55 at the McKale Memorial Center in Tucson, Arizona. This will mark former UNC and current Arizona guard Caleb Love’s 10th career matchup against the Blue Devils.

Duke vs Arizona picks and predictions
Craig Meyer, USA TODAY: Duke 87, Arizona 79
“The thought of facing old tormentor Caleb Love has to be terrifying for the Blue Devils, but this is a different caliber of Duke team, with Cooper Flagg and arguably the most talented, well-constructed roster in the country. The Blue Devils did what not even their fellow No. 1 seeds did in the first two rounds, rolling to a pair of victories that came by a combined 67 points. They almost certainly won’t blow the Wildcats out like that, but it’s difficult to envision them failing to make at least the Elite Eight.”
Rodd Baxley, Fayetteville Observer:Duke 82, Arizona 70
“These aren’t the same teams that faced each other in November. Duke and Arizona have improved in different ways with different lineups, but the Blue Devils have elevated to a level that has them playing like the favorite to cut down the nets in San Antonio.”
Jeremy Cluff, Arizona Republic: Duke 79, Arizona 73
“Caleb Love knows Duke very well from his time playing for North Carolina and he has the ability to keep Arizona in this game by himself. Arizona is the biggest underdog in the Sweet 16, however, for a reason. Cooper Flagg and the Blue Devils will pull away just enough for the win late.“
