ECSO: No signs of victims or a shooter at NAS Pensacola’s Corry Station

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WALA) — The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office told FOX10 News that officials have cleared the building at Corry Station where an armed disturbance had been reported this morning.

The ECSO said there are no signs of victims or a shooter.

At about 10:15 a.m., the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a potential active shooter at Corry Station. The sheriff’s office said there were two reports of three gunshots being heard, but officials have found “no evidence of that.”

NAS Pensacola officials at 12:19 p.m. said all gates to Corry Station remain closed, but NAS Pensacola’s main gate and west gate have reopened to Department of Defense identification card holders. Public visitation to NAS Pensacola’s areas of public interest is unavailable.

NAS Pensacola posted the following statement on Facebook during the response: “Our Security team is responding swiftly and expertly with our local law enforcement partners,” said Capt. Chandra Newman. “Our concern is always the safety and welfare of our service members and their families. Our security forces will continue to work with responding law enforcement to process the crime scene.”

Gates to NAS Pensacola and Corry Station were closed Thursday, March 6, 2025, after law enforcement officials were notified of a possible armed disturbance.(Hal Scheurich, FOX10 News)

According to NAS Pensacola, Navy Security Forces as well as local law enforcement including the ECSO and the Pensacola Police Department responded.

Officials this morning advised people at Corry Station and NAS Pensacola to follow directions from the air station’s NSF personnel.

The NAS Pensacola Corry Station Morale, Welfare and Recreation Child Development Center is unaffected by the situation, officials said. CDC representatives were contacting parents of children at the facility.

Corry Station is a sub-installation of NAS Pensacola that hosts several of the U.S. Navy’s Information Warfare Corps training commands. It is located approximately two miles north of NAS Pensacola.
