Adrian Peterson was booked into Hennepin County Jail early Friday morning on suspicion of driving while impaired (DWI).
According to Hennepin County jail records, Peterson was booked into custody at 5:16 a.m. for a pending fourth-degree DWI charge. Details disclosing where Peterson was driving and the cause for him being stopped by the Minnesota State Patrol are not yet available.
In Minnesota, a fourth-degree DWI is a misdemeanor and the lowest level DWI offense. It usually applies to first-time offenders and includes a blood-alcohol concentration below 0.16. The legal limit is 0.08.
Bail for Peterson is set at $4,000 and he’s scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. on May 9, per jail records.
