Raheem Sterling has his fair share of critics, and has been regularly left out of the Arsenal starting XI by Mikel Arteta this season.

Despite what his detractors may say, the 30-year-old has made his mark over a long standing career in English football, and that’s been made clear in Arsenal’s Champions League clash with PSV this evening.

With two assists in first half action, Sterling has helped the Gunners to a 9-2 aggregate score over their Dutch adversaries, and in doing so has added the fourth-most goal contributions of any Englishman in the Champions League.

New record unlocked. πŸ”“Raheem Sterling is the first ever English player to be directly involved in at least one goal for four different clubs in the Champions League. Most goals + assists by English players in UCL history:β—Ž 52 – David Beckham β—Ž 50 – Harry Kane

His 46 Champions League goal involvements are made up of 27 goals and 19 assists, with only David Beckham (52), Harry Kane (50) and Wayne Rooney (47) having registered more.

Sterling may have only made the starting lineup because of the 7-1 lead from the first leg, but he’s certainly making his mark.
