Former 5-star Kentucky recruit Ian Jackson enters transfer portal

The Kentucky Wildcats are in need of help in the shooting department. It just so happens that a former UK recruit is now set to transfer.

According to On3 reporter Pete Nakos, North Carolina Tar Heels shooting guard Ian Jackson is entering the NCAA transfer portal.

A consensus top-10 recruit in the class of 2024, Jackson was someone Kentucky was strongly in the mix for under John Calipari and even appeared to be the favorite heading down the stretch before UNC won out.

This season, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound native of the Bronx (NY) averaged 11.9 points on 45.6% shooting (39.5% from deep), 2.7 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 23.8 minutes per game. He had eight performances of 20+ points.

It’s highly likely Kentucky will, at the very least, reach out to see what Jackson’s asking price is and what he’s looking for in his next college home. How much interest there will be between both sides remains to be seen, but this is a big one.
