European Union countries agree all available tools may be used as threats in talks with the US on President Donald Trump’s tariffs, according to French Trade Minister Laurent Saint-Martin.
Paris has urged the EU to prepare a forceful response as the best way of gaining leverage in negotiations. On the way into a meeting of trade chiefs in Luxembourg on Monday, Saint-Martin called on the bloc to use its full toolbox, which he said provides for an “extremely aggressive” riposte.
