When: Monday, 8:30 p.m., SAP Center
TV: Sportsnet One Radio: Sportsnet 960 The Fan
Odds: Flames -187, Sharks +155
Of the 33 wins Dustin Wolf has accumulated in his still-young NHL career, 11 have come against California-based teams.
That stat comes from the Flames’ own Chris Wahl and should give fans a little confidence heading into Monday’s must-win matchup with the San Jose Sharks.
Not that he needs any extra motivation at this point in the season, but Wolf seems to get up for matchups with teams from his home state.

“Any team is special, but I think when you play either of the three teams in California it kind of adds a little more emphasis,” Wolf told FlamesTV last week. “I’ve been around all three teams my whole life, growing up, and you definitely want to play well against them and obviously right now these points are critical so you want to play even better.”
The Flames will certainly be hoping Wolf can get a 12th win over opposition from the Golden State on Monday. They need the two points, especially after the Minnesota Wild knocked off the Dallas Stars in overtime on Sunday.
That win puts heaps of pressure on the Flames, who are now six points back of the Wild in the Western Conference’s wild card race but have played two fewer games.

- After reports emerged that the Flames had a plan to get first-round pick Zayne Parekh to Calgary after his junior team, the Saginaw Spirit, were eliminated from the OHL playoffs on Saturday night, there will be plenty of speculation this week about whether the 19-year-old will join the team on the road-trip.
- MacKenzie Weegar looked to be in considerable pain after blocking a shot in overtime against the Golden Knights on Saturday. He did finish the game, but it’s worth keeping an eye on his availability on Monday.
- The Sharks might be the worst team in the league, but head coach Ryan Warsofsky will stay busy this spring after he was named as the Team USA head coach at the 2025 world championships
