GLENDALE, Ariz. – Several people were shot in Glendale on Sunday night at a restaurant, the police department said, calling the scene “chaotic.”

The May 4 shooting happened near 57th and Glendale avenues around 7:45 p.m. at El Camaron Gigante Mariscos & Steakhouse.
Latest on victims:
“What I can confirm is that there are multiple people shot,” Glendale Police Officer Moroni Mendez said. “The number is closer to 9 now. I can’t confirm whether that is the actual number, but it is more than three now.”
Latest on possible suspects:
There is believed to be more than one shooter, but Officer Mendez says the public is safe.
“There are no apprehensions at the moment. There are quite a few people detained, and we’re trying to investigate whether they’re suspects, victims, witnesses, investigative leads. There are multiple people that our officers and detectives are speaking to,” Officer Mendez said.
He says no officers or security guards were involved in the shooting.
