It’s almost major season for the LPGA but before the tour heads to Texas for the Chevron Championship, there’s a lot of money to hand out this week outside Los Angeles at the JM Eagle LA Championship, where Hannah Green has won each of the last two years.
This year, the field at El Caballero Country Club is playing for a $3.75 million purse with the winner taking home $562,500 for a victory.

There was a venue change for this year’s event, which means that Green, ranked No. 5 in the world, is not as much of a favorite as perhaps she would’ve been otherwise. Nelly Korda fits that bill as the World No. 1 is the favorite most everywhere she tees it up these days, after coming off a seven-win 2024 season. However, she has not won yet in the four starts so far this year. She is the defending champion next week at the Chevron.
Madelene Sagstrom is back after her impressive victory two weeks ago at the T-Mobile Match Play at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, where she topped Lauren Coughlin in the final match. Other top-10 players in the field include Jenno Thitikul (2), Lilia Vu (4), Ayaka Furue (7), Angel Yin (8) and Haeran Ryu (9).
